Welcome to Heart of Cart

 

Heart of Cart began in Russell, Ontario, not in a boardroom, but in a basement with a cotton candy machine and a dream. What started as a simple side hustle quickly became a story of resilience, creativity, and heart. Our very first rental didn’t go as planned, the machine broke after one event, and for a year, it sat untouched in storage. But we couldn’t let the idea go.

One day, we decided to fix the machine and give it another chance. Our first event back was a local community fundraiser, and that once “failed” machine ended up spinning over $500 worth of cotton candy and countless smiles. That day, we realized our business wasn’t just about sweet treats, it was about connection, community, and creating joy through unique confectionery experiences.

Today, Heart of Cart is a women-led, family-owned business bringing moments of happiness to every event we serve. 

Every flavour we craft is designed to surprise and delight, the kind that makes people stop mid-bite and say, “Noway, I have never tasted anything like this before!” From unexpected combinations to nostalgic classics, we’re here to make every taste an experience. It is not your average cotton candy that taste like factory-made mass produced because we make every batch in-house, to order, and fresh.

Fariha Abedin, CEO & Founding Partner

Fariha leads Heart of Cart with visionary strategy and a passion for confectionery inspired by her global travels and lived experiences. As the creative heart behind the brand’s offerings, she curates and develops the brand’s signature flavored sugars, crafting unique blends that give each cotton candy its own character. From launching new flavor + product collections like Playbook to managing the brand’s social media, website, and packaging design, Fariha shapes how Heart of Cart looks and feels. She also drives business development, building partnerships, establishing long term vision, and exploring fresh ways to grow the brand.

Ehsanul Haque, Head of Operations, Finance & Production

Ehsanul oversees operations and finances, while also playing a hands-on role in the heart of Heart of Cart’s production. He crafts the cotton candy for both orders and in-person events, ensuring top quality and consistency. Ehsanul also manages dispatch, ensuring smooth and timely deliveries to customers and partners.

Ashique Rushdi, Head of Media & Operations Support

Ashique leads Heart of Cart’s media and marketing efforts, from brand photography and creative shoots to strategic storytelling, advising on how the brand connects with its audience through visual identity and social engagement. He also supports operations, including handling packaging and labeling to prepare products for dispatch and assists on site during large-scale events, ensuring everything runs smoothly and looks its best.
